How long does editing take?
As a rule of thumb, editors commonly review 6000 words per day. The precise amount of time depends on the quality of the original document and the translation, as well as on the topic being addressed.

"We will keep doing these [projects], and you will be our translator of choice for any languages you're into."
- Connie Brown, CCComplete, Inc.

EdinburghTranslation.com provides complete language services for your document translation needs. We can enable you to communicate your message in more than 30 languages to customers worldwide. We can even assist in preparing your electronic files for the printistry. The success of every translation project is dependent upon three distinct components, which are at the core of our service offerings.

Translation
The physical and mental act of translating written text from a source language into one or more target languages.
Our translators actively work in more than 30 languages, and can readily prepare your content for any number of target audiences.

Proofreading and Editing
A review of the translated documents to ensure the text flows well and is free from grammatical and terminological errors.
This includes checking for inconsistencies in the use of terminology, context, and intended meaning with regards to the original source text. Proofreading and editing is typically performed by a professional other than the original translator. Depending on the quality of the finished piece, following proofreading, it will either be prepared for delivery to you, or undergo additional editing.

We normally pair up two translators per language to make the translation and editing a smooth and efficient process. While editing is an optional service, we highly recommend you request this extra step in all your translation projects, as it reduces the occurence of mistranslations and other errors, and provides a level of assurance that the translation is of the highest quality possible.

Web and Print Design
Integrating the translated text into a print- or Web-ready format for use by the client.
Translations are usually composed in a word processing format and delivered to the client for print use. Some projects entail specialized formatting, such as for use in Web pages or marketing flyers. Edinburgh Translation, being a division of Canvas Dreams (UK) Ltd, gives you access to highly-skilled webmasters and print designers with formal training.
